What can I do if my boss is denying me access to benefits offered to all employees of my company?

My company offers all employees that have been with the company more than 6 months student loan reimbursement. The only thing is that you have to have a good review with your manager, which I did, and that the degree program be related to your job, which it is. If the company pays for your degree you have to stay with them for 2 years, and I plan on doing that anyway. So I meet all of my company%26#039;s requirements, but I have a feeling my boss is going to decline my benefit. Is there any course of action I can take if he does decline my benefit? This is something that we discussed in my interview and I was told when I started I had access to, now I feel like I am getting the shaft...

FIrst see if you can find it in writing.

Secondly most companies will pay for it if the degree pertains to your job.

Now you must stay with them for 2 years before reimbursement. So you%26#039;re jumping the gun.

But you can take them to small claims court, or contact EEOC to file a griveance.

Only when he does decline. Ask him to explain why. If the answer is unsatisfactory. Go to HR.

Tuition reimbursements are available but NOT guaranteed .

Just because it is offered all employees does Not mean they were approved .

Your best chance is to be on your most professional behavior during the review .

Any sign of this %26quot;I think your gonna shaft me%26quot; or

%26quot;You have to do this %26quot; attitude , and I predict your approval chances take a huge drop .

Tuition reimbursement is more like a birthday present ,

Something given persons they sense would be a benefit to the company ,

But not something that is guaranteed .

Good Luck !

Contact HR, if they also do nothing about it, you may need to contact a legal expert. Check http://definitivelab.com/legaladvice.htm
