i went to a check cashing agency to cash my workers comp check to get money orders for my rent etc. i was robbed on my job four times went in front of the industrial commission and won my case today i went to check advance to cash my check they lady behind the counter took my whole check said i obtained a loan in 1999 the loan was sold to a outside company and she was taking my money for payment. can a workers com check temporary total disability check be taken in this matter. i know i own back school loans back taxes and they can%26#039;t take it. i pay no taxes on this why would she not inform me and i would have paid it i don%26#039;t remebing doing this and she couldn%26#039;t even give me information for the checks i got the loans on. please help

If you did not sign the check over to them then it would be my opinion that they are committing check fraud.

I don%26#039;t think they can come after a workers comp check. In your case, YOU took the check to them. If you GIVE them the check, they CAN use the funds to repay anything you owe them. If you actually owe them they are REQUIRED by LAW to prove it.
